La Cañada High School

La Cañada High School is a renowned public high school in La Cañada Flintridge. Known for its exceptional academic programs, the school offers a wide array of Advanced Placement (AP) courses, preparing students for success in college and beyond. LCHS is celebrated for its strong emphasis on extracurricular activities, including Division I, II, and III sports teams; performing arts groups; and over 100 student-led clubs. LCHS also offers a variety of language courses, such as Spanish, French, German, Korean, and Mandarin. La Cañada 7/8 High School

La Cañada 7/8 High School is La Canada Flintridge’s public middle school. Sharing a campus with La Cañada High School, LCHS 7/8 aims to provide middle school students with a seamless transition to high school. The school is known for its commitment to academic excellence, offering a comprehensive curriculum that includes core subjects like English, math, science, and social studies, as well as a variety of elective courses. LCHS 7/8 also has several sports teams and clubs for students to choose from.

Public Elementary Schools

Palm Crest Elementary

Palm Crest (PCR) is a TK-6 school on Palm Drive and is known for its exceptional faculty, serving over 600 students. In 2020, PCR received the California Distingiuished School Award. In 2021, the school was named a National Blue Ribbon Exemplary High Performing School. PCR boasts brand new, modern buildings, as well as remarkable music, art, and STEM programs.

La Cañada Elementary

La Cañada Elementary (LCE) is a TK-6 school on Encinas Drive. LCE offers programs ranging from STEAM and language arts to physical education. LCE also places an emphasis on the home/school partnership, encouraging families to be involved in their children’s education. Due to its high ranking, LCE has earned a U.S. News Best Elementary Schools award badge.

Paradise Canyon Elementary

Paradise Canyon (PCY) is a K-6 school on Knight Way that serves over 700 students. PCY has received the award for California Distinguished School in 1998, 2004, 2008, and 2014. PCY will soon offer brand new infrastructure and amenities for students. Currently, students are enjoying PCY’s small class sizes, daily physical education, and extracurricular activities.

Private Elementary/Middle Schools

Crestview Preparatory

Crestview Preparatory is a private elementary school known to have tight-knit community and excellent academic curriculum. The curriculum at Crestview is designed to develop skills in Lower Elementary (K-3) which will serve as a base for independent learning in Upper Elementary. The overall goal of Crestview is to prepare students for a bright future in education, and this is done with small class sizes and specialized instruction.

St. Bede Catholic School

St. Bede Catholic School is a private, Catholic school with grades TK-8. The academic program at St. Bede ranks within the top 5% of all Los Angeles Archdiocese schools. St. Bede fosters future leaders with strong moral, faith-based, and community-oriented values, leading to graduates excelling in top high schools and assuming leadership roles. St. Bede also offers athletics, on-campus activities, and after school extracurriculars for students.

Learning Castle/La Cañada Prep

The Learning Castle (TLC) and La Cañada Prep (LCP) are joint private elementary and middle schools. Both schools follow their own Color Me Smart curriculum, designed to “accelerate learning and to aid in the recovery of remediation.” At LCP, teachers design personalized curricula that meet state standards and challenge students at different paces. The school also offers various athletic teams and after-school programs.

Private High Schools

St. Francis High School

St. Francis High School (SFHS), is an all boys, private, Catholic, college preparatory school. The goal of the school is to provide an excellent education while promoting Franciscan values of “respect for others and self through humility; prayer, and service, especially to the poor and marginalized.” Additionally, the school offers several D1 sports teams and over 70 student organizations.

Flintridge Preparatory School

Flintridge Prep is a combined private middle and high school with a curriculum designed to guide students towards transforming our world. Prep is known for its academic rigor, as well as extracurricular activities, including over 20 teams in 14 sports and over 80 clubs. Prep’s alumni network is extensive, and through Prep Exchange, current students can reach out to them with questions.

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy (FSHA) is an all girls, private, Catholic, college preparatory school. It offers a rigorous academic program, a wide range of extracurricular activities, including over 15 sports teams, and a supportive community that empowers young women to become confident leaders. FSHA is known for its strong emphasis on faith, service, and academic excellence.
