City Hosted Activities

  • The 2024 Music in the Park Concert Series in La Cañada Flintridge starts on Memorial Day, May 27, with 15 bands playing every Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. until Sept. 1.

  • The YMCA of the Foothills' annual Bike-A-Thon fundraises for camp, program, and membership scholarships, demonstrating community support for the YMCA's mission to enrich lives. Additionally, the YMCA's Halloween event features trunk or treating, face painting, costume parades, pumpkin decorating, food trucks, candy, and more.

  • Experience summer fun at the beach with the convenient Summer Beach Bus, offering a direct ride from La Cañada Flintridge to the sandy shores of Santa Monica Bay.

  • One day every year La Cañada Residents have the opportunity to spend the day with the LC Mayor by hiking through one of La Cañada's many gorgeous trails!

Community Groups

  • The La Cañada Flintridge Chamber of Commerce and Community Association's mission is to promote a thriving business and residential community. They focus on serving as a voice for businesses, informing them of relevant laws and regulations, while also enhancing the city's appeal for residents and businesses through various programs and educational opportunities.

  • The Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge (CCLCF), established in 1948, offers recreational and educational programs for all ages. It is funded by grants, donations, rentals, class fees, and fundraisers, including ceramic sales and the Thanksgiving 5K Run and Food Drive.

  • The YMCA of the Foothills, a 501c3 charity, positively impacts Foothills communities by offering programs in obesity and drowning prevention, arts, STEM, senior support, and chaplain services, benefiting over 33,500 individuals last year. Founded in 1958, the YMCA runs various programs and facilities across the Foothills, providing life-enriching activities for over 40,000 people annually.

  • Descanso Gardens' story is one of a deep connection between people and plants, spanning centuries from indigenous communities to modern-day visitors. It has evolved into a botanic garden, offering a serene and beautiful oasis that reflects humanity's relationship with the natural world.

  • The La Cañada Flintridge Library serves as a vibrant community hub, offering a wide range of educational resources and programs for all ages. It provides a welcoming environment where residents can explore literature, engage in learning, and connect with others.

  • The Kiwanis Club of La Cañada, founded in 1948 by Frank Lanterman and Ed Moulton, has a rich history of community service and involvement. From hosting the annual Travelogue Series to spearheading the La Cañada Rose Parade float, the club has been a pillar in the community, even sponsoring a morning club and maintaining close ties with the La Cañada Flintridge Tournament of Roses Association.

City Sponsored Activities/Events

  • The event is sponsored by the City of La Canada Flintridge and La Canada Flintridge Sister Cities Association in close partnership with the La Canada Flintridge Chamber of Commerce. The Mixer is a great way to mingle with fellow La Canada neighbors, eat, drink, and have a good time!

  • In partnership with the Chamber of Commerce, and hosted by the YMCA. Memorial Day Weekend in La Cañada Flintridge is a significant community event organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Community Association. Originally a Cinco de Mayo festival, Fiesta Days was moved to Memorial Day weekend after the city's incorporation, expanding to include more activities and attractions while honoring veterans and celebrating Spanish heritage.

  • Hosted by the Chamber of Comce, the Festival in Lights is the perfect opportunity to get into the holiday spirit! Festival in Lights boasts holiday musical performances, snow play, live reindeer, Santa & Mrs. Claus - and much, much more!

  • The LCF Sister Cities Association was incorporated as a California nonprofit public benefit corporation in early 2016. The City and our members generously provide leadership and funding to help send local high school students to the annual Sister Cities International Youth Leadership Summit.  In 2017 we began facilitating student exchanges with our Sister City in Villanueva de la Cañada, Madrid, Spain.

  • With proof of residency in La Cañada, you can enjoy the YMCA's pickleball facilities...for free! The new indoor pickleball gym at the YMCA is a place for a competitive, yet friendly, community building sport.

Youth Athletic/Recreation Associations

  • At the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge, the focus is on nurturing young athletes and fostering a love for sports. Collaborating with an incredible team of coaches, they offer a dynamic range of sports programs designed to engage, challenge, and inspire children of various ages. The community center offers sports like basketball, dodgeball, flag football, lacrosse, martial arts, soccer, and tennis.

  • LCBSA's mission is to be an outstanding youth sports organization that promotes character and skill development, teamwork, friendship, inclusivity, community involvement, citizenship, and passion for baseball. The league has divisions for ages 6-12 for baseball, and 8-14 for softball.

  • Since 1968, the La Canada Gladiators have been a part of the San Gabriel Valley Conference of Junior All-American Football, serving as a starting point for many local high school football and cheer programs. Open to children aged 6 to 14, the program focuses on football and cheerleading skills, as well as scholastic achievement and good sportsmanship, requiring a minimum 2.0 GPA for participation and awarding scholar-athlete patches for those with a 3.3 GPA or higher.

  • AYSO Region 13 in Pasadena, Altadena, and La Cañada offers a fall soccer league from September to December for ages 3 to 18. The league emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and fun, with balanced teams and various divisions accommodating different skill levels. Volunteers play a crucial role in coaching, refereeing, and managing teams, and the league aims to provide a positive and inclusive environment for all participants.

  • The Spartan Community Basketball League aims to develop self-confidence, sportsmanship, teamwork, and basketball skills in young people from La Cañada-Flintridge and surrounding areas. Coaches are expected to prioritize these objectives over winning games or personal recognition.
